Bringing new life to local communities through marketing and social innovation stands at the core of this research initiative. The focus lies on strategic utilization of regional resources—particularly in areas of regional revitalization and tourism-driven urban development. By combining theoretical frameworks with practical application, the team works on projects that explore cross-organizational collaboration and community value creation. The ultimate goal is developing and testing models that leverage local resources as valuable assets, contributing to sustainable and vibrant regional communities.

Regional case studies from across Japan form the foundation of our work, which focuses on developing effective brand strategies, creating and promoting local value, identifying strategic tourism resources, and designing experiential tourism business models. Our team also investigates region-based business initiatives addressing critical social challenges including declining birthrates, aging populations, and depopulation. By applying regional marketing theories and reassessing the unique value of local communities through a management lens, we aim to deliver tangible outcomes such as increased tourism, economic revitalization, and new business creation. Throughout this process, we remain committed to ensuring research benefits flow back to local communities, while fostering collaborative regional models that bring together residents, government agencies, and businesses.
