| 概要 | Heavy water is reported to reduce isoflurane MAC in mice. Its anti-nociceptive action was shown behaviorally using escape action from the heat in mice1. Since the spinal cord plays a crucial role in MAC and nociceptive transmission, the action of heavy water in the spinal cord was evaluated. Here we used monosynaptic reflex (MSR) as a substitute for MAC, and slow ventral root potential (sVRP) for nociceptive transmission. Previously, we reported that heavy water augmented both MSR and sVRP at low concentration (10%) and suppressed them at high concentration (100%)2. Here we studied heavy water's effect on glycinergic inhibitory transmission to elucidate the inhibitory interneuron's role. 1) Heavy water reduced the amplitude of glycinergic IPSC in high concentration (50%, 100%), but slightly augmented the amplitude in low concentration (10%).
2) Only 10 % heavy water showed the rebound augmentation during washout phase.Suppression of MSR and sVRP at high concentration (50%, 100%) of heavy water was not due to the augmentation of inhibitory transmission. 平成17年2月25日~27日 |
